Lansing Common FC is excited to announce its Community Soccer Kickoff event, which will take place on May 7th at 2 PM at Eastern Stadium. Admission is free and donations will be collected to support the Early Bird Fund, a charitable initiative that supports six Lansing non-profits. Last year’s kickoff event raised almost $1,500.

The event will feature a “Red vs White” intrasquad friendly where Lansing Common FC players face off against each other. Fans will also have the opportunity to watch some local celebrities in action during a scrimmage that will include WLNS Sports Anchor Audrey Dahlgren, former Detroit City FC pro-Cyrus Saydee, LSJ Columnist Graham Couch, and Lansing City Council member Brian Jackson.

The event will also offer plenty of fun activities for fans of all ages, including a chance to come on the field and participate in soccer activities. Attendees will also have the opportunity to meet and interact with Lansing Common FC players and coaches.

“We are excited to welcome the Lansing community back to Eastern Stadium for this special event,” said Eric Walcott, President of Lansing Common FC. “We are glad to have a chance to support the important work that these non-profits do and look forward to kicking off the 2023 season with a fun afternoon.”

The club is also partnering to host a free youth soccer clinic from 12:30-2 PM before the kickoff event gets started. The event is open to youth kindergarten through 8th grade, on the field at Eastern Stadium. The event will be led by Lansing Common players and coaches. Registration is not required but is appreciated.

Lansing Common’s 2023 Midwest Premier League Schedule was announced last week, featuring eight home games. Season tickets and memberships are available on our club website, and single-game tickets can be purchased through our ticketing partner, Fanbase. Single-game tickets are just $5 online and $7 at the gate.

Last year’s event was a lot of fun, and we hope to see you there on May 7!
