LANSING, Mich. – Lansing Common FC kicks off its 2026 season on Sunday, May 3 at 4:00 p.m. against Liboka FC.

After a second-place finish in 2025, the Robins are back in the hunt for a Great Lakes West Division title.

The winner of the West Division will play the top team from the East in the Midwest Premier League’s Great Lakes Conference Championship on Saturday, July 25.

Head Coach Brent Sorg is back leading the Robins along with assistant coaches Todd Derby, Josh Rosendale, Max Crawford, and Goalkeepers Coach Zac Kelly. Crawford joins the staff after playing for LCFC in 2024 and 2025 and Kelly returns to the club after featuring as a goalkeeper in the club’s 2021 season.

“To play for Lansing Common, you have to be team first, coachable, and have a winning mentality and high work ethic,” Sorg said.

There are high expectations for the Robins this season with many returning faces, along with new additions to the squad.

Captain and 517 Award winner Spencer Powe returns for his fifth season with the club.

Other notable returners include midfielders Jack Heald, Joey Farhat, and Roarke Watterson, forwards Michael Kostoglanis and Carter Hagan, defenders Damian Addai and Ameer Shetiah, and goalkeepers Jackson Kiszka and Jonny Schwarz.

Some new additions to the roster include Cleary University defenders Josh Angel-Craven, Jed Blough, and Archie Tyers, along with former Cleary University goalkeeper Vaios Papadoudis. Midfielder Ellijah Vue joins the Robins after leading Kalamazoo College in assists this past fall.

Former Michigan State University and Okemos High School standout Jack Guggemos adds experience to the midfield after playing 58 games for the Spartans over the last four years.

Guggemos received Academic All-Big Ten Honors three times, Academic All-District twice, and was named Michigan’s Mr. Soccer and Division I Offensive Player of the Year in 2021.

Attacking midfielder Cullen MacKay returns for a second year with LCFC after completing a stellar senior season at Lansing Christian High School. MacKay tallied 36 goals and 23 assists for the Pilgrims, which earned him First Team All-State honors and a spot on the Lansing State Journal’s 2025 Dream Team.

The Robins return to the field on Sunday, May 3 at 4:00 p.m when they host Liboka FC at Eastern Stadium. Tickets are just $5 online or $7 at the gate. Lansing-based food truck Taqueria Monarca will be at the game in addition to Lansing Common’s regular concessions menu.
