In 2024, Lansing Common Football Club is celebrating 10 years of soccer clubs in Lansing and the community that has surrounded them. In 2014, Lansing United launched, kicking off the current era of Lansing soccer. Lansing Ignite followed in 2019, and since then Lansing Common has carried the banner as Lansing’s community club.
But did you know, Lansing’s soccer story goes farther back?

In 1912, the Lansing Soccer Football Club was formed after an “All-Star” team of Lansing-based soccer-playing immigrants from England, Scotland, and Ireland had joined together to play in an exhibition game against a club from another city.
LSFC, first known as “The Senators” then later “The Eagles”, played its early games in the Southern Michigan Soccer League, playing teams from Jackson, Kalamazoo, Grand Rapids, and Battle Creek.
1913 was the biggest year for the Lansing side. they won their league in impressive fashion, averaging just under 5 goals a game, and lost only once, to bitter rivals Battle Creek. They attracted nearly 3,000 fans to home matches, brought 100s of fans along with them on the road, and caught the attention of big-time clubs in Detroit and Chicago.
Soon enough, the club would disband due to World War I. Attempts were made to reorganize after the Great War, but sadly nothing stuck.
In 2024, we embrace the Lansing Soccer Football Club as a part of the Lansing Soccer story and proudly wear their stripes as our away kit for this season.

The 2024 away jersey can be purchased through the Lansing Common online store or at all home games this season. Memberships and season tickets are currently available through the website. Single-game tickets are available through the club’s ticketing partner, Fanbase.
