Lansing Common FC begins its fifth season in the Midwest Premier League with a special community kickoff event this Saturday, May 3, at Eastern Stadium. The afternoon will begin with a free youth soccer clinic at 3 PM, followed by a round-robin friendly featuring MWPL opponents Troy United and Detroit Badgers FC.
The preseason event offers fans a chance to see the Robins in action against two teams from the MWPL Great Lakes East Division—clubs they won’t face during regular season play but could meet in postseason competition.
“We’re kicking off the season with a new type of event this year, but keeping it focused on being a community event,” said Lansing Common FC President Eric Walcott. “Between the youth clinic and the friendlies it will be a great afternoon of soccer with fun for everyone. I can’t wait to welcome fans back to Eastern Stadium.”
Tickets are just $5 online or $7 at the gate, with 10% of ticket and merchandise sales benefiting the Early Bird Fund, which awards $517 grants to local nonprofit organizations.
The round-robin format features 45-minute matchups between each club:
