The Robins will kick off the 2025 season with a round-robin friendly on May 3
Lansing Common FC will kick off the 2025 season with a round-robin friendly on May 3rd featuring MWPL opponents Troy United and Detroit Badgers FC. As in previous years, the kickoff event will begin with a free youth soccer clinic at 3 PM followed immediately by the round-robin friendly. Lansing Common players and coaches will lead the youth clinic.
Troy United and Detroit Badgers both compete in the MWPL Great Lakes East Division, giving fans a chance to see two teams the Robins won’t face during their league season, but could meet in a conference championship game in late July.
“We’re kicking off the season with a new type of event this year, but keeping it focused on being a community event,” said LCFC President Eric Walcott. “Between the youth clinic and the friendlies it will be a great afternoon of soccer with fun for everyone. I can’t wait to welcome fans back to Eastern Stadium to help us kick off the 2025 season.”
Tickets are available for $5 online or $7 at the gate. The club will donate 10% of ticket and merchandise proceeds from the event to the club’s Early Bird Fund, which provides grants of $517 to local nonprofit organizations.
The round-robin friendly will feature 45 minute matchups between each team.
