Now that we’ve wrapped up the 2023 season, we at Lansing Common FC are full of excitement as we reflect on the journey we’ve shared with our beloved community these last three years. The 2023 season was another summer of great moments on and off the field.

Over 3,500 fervent fans attended home games for the second consecutive season, filling us with immense gratitude. Your committed presence and dynamic energy uplifted our players and demonstrate the love this community shares for the Robins.

While first place is always the goal, we finished just 3 points shy of that goal, and have earned a remarkable 75 points across three seasons, the most in the Midwest Premier League. Our players have displayed incredible dedication, and three of them achieved the noteworthy milestone of reaching the 2,000-minute mark—a testament to their unwavering commitment. Congrats to Munir Sherali, Kevin Payne, and Landon Hungerford.

We celebrate the fact that over 75% of the minutes played this year were by players from the Lansing area. This is a testament to our identity as a club that embodies the spirit and diversity of our community. In addition, another significant milestone was reached this season as we celebrated our first former player signing a professional soccer contract as Hunter Gibbons (2021) signed to play for Gold Star FC in the National Independent Soccer Association.

Our commitment to making soccer a game for all has expanded even further this season. We welcomed more than 120 enthusiastic young soccer players to our free soccer clinics this summer, in addition to the free youth futsal tournament we hosted in the spring. These clinics embody our mission to ensure that soccer remains accessible to every child.

We are also really proud of our off-field efforts so far this year. Through jersey sales, a charity jersey auction, and our Early Bird coffee partnership with Strange Matter, we’ve raised over $5,000 for local non-profits. This isn’t just about our love for the game, but our shared commitment to making our beloved community a better place.

We are always grateful to our volunteers who devoted many hours to cleaning up city parks, exemplifying the spirit of giving back that defines our club.

As we reflect on this past season, we are already looking ahead to 2024. We are committed to building on these achievements and continuing to elevate our community through the beautiful game. We couldn’t have come this far without the unwavering support of every member, fan, sponsor, and volunteer. You are the heartbeat of Lansing Common FC, and we invite you to join us in penning the next chapter of our journey. Together, let’s celebrate our accomplishments and work to continue to grow what we’ve built together!
