Lansing Common announced today that Brent Sorg will return as head coach for the 2025 season. Sorg will coach the Robins for a fifth season after serving as an assistant coach in 2021 and taking over as head coach midway through the 2022 season.
“As we enter our 5th year I am more excited than ever to be back as the coach for Lansing Common,” said Sorg. “Putting a quality product on the field that our supporters will be proud of is my most important focus. We will persist in seeing things through even when faced with difficult challenges. We look forward to seeing our loyal fans and hope to welcome many new ones this summer.”
“I’m excited to have Brent back with us for another year,” said club President Eric Walcott. “He’s demonstrated a commitment to this club and knows we want to compete at a high level within the league. I can’t wait to watch the show on the field this year.”
As the head coach of Lansing Common, Coach Sorg has 17 wins, 10 losses, and 3 draws in all competitions.

Sorg brings significant experience to the club, including stints as an assistant coach at Spring Arbor University and Alma College, as well as 12 years as head coach at Williamston High School where his teams were seven-time district champions and three-time state finalists. In 2014, Sorg was named Michigan High School Soccer Coaches Association Coach of the Year.
Lansing Common competes in the Midwest Premier League. The 2025 season will kick off in early May. Memberships for the 2025 season are now available at lansingcommonfc.com/memberships/ and full schedule details will be announced in March.
