LANSING, Mich – Lansing Common FC continued its strong start to the 2026 Midwest Premier League season with a 4-1 victory over Tulip City United SC. It was the second-straight four-goal performance by the Robins.

The win showcased a complete team effort with three different goal-scorers and carried the team’s momentum into a third-straight league victory.

“I’m pleased with where the group is at right now and I think the important piece for all of us is just to remain hungry, humble, and stay the course,” Head Coach Brent Sorg said after the match.

The teams battled through a scoreless opening 20 minutes until Lansing forward Xtreme Hauk got on the end of a cross from Elijah Vue to give Lansing a 1-0 lead.

LCFC doubled its advantage late in the first half when midfielder Jack Heald got his head on a cross from Jayson Janofski and scored in the 43rd minute. Heald, a native of Mansfield, England, gave a special nod to his father who was visiting from the United Kingdom and watching from the stands.

Tulip City came out strong after the break and benefited from Lansing defender Damian Addai being dealt a straight red card for the denial of a goal-scoring opportunity in the 47th minute. The visitors used their man advantage to control possession and create more offensive pressure for most of the second half.

“I’m a little bummed at our response because I felt like there were one or two times they played over the top and we didn’t do a good enough job at adjusting,” said Sorg.

Despite Tulip City’s improved play, the Robins extended their lead in the 62nd minute when defender Jed Blough found Hauk in space and the former East Lansing Trojan scored his second goal of the match to make it 3-0.

“He’s just enjoying the body work and his movement is very good. He’s clean on the ball, finds the right pockets of space, and scores goals,” Sorg said about Hauk’s performance.

The Robins added another goal in the 79th minute when midfielder Roarke Watterson was fouled inside the box and Jayson Janofski converted the penalty kick to push the lead to 4-0.
