After a 2-2 draw against West Michigan Bearings on Friday, Lansing Common FC (6-2-2) is right back at it on Sunday, July 16th when the Robins host second-place 1927 SC (7-2-1) from Fort Wayne, IN at 4:00pm at Eastern Stadium.

This will be the second-ever meeting between the clubs. The first was Lansing Common FC’s inaugural match on May 15th, 2021. A friendly that ended 3-1 in favor of the Robins. 1927 SC joined the Midwest Premier League this season as an expansion club.

The Robins look to bounce back against another high-quality opponent in the Great Lakes West Division. 1927 SC need to earn four points from their final two games to win the division and secure a place in the conference championship game.

Despite being eliminated from title contention, Lansing head coach Brent Sorg’s squad will not lay down during their final games of the season. He emphasized the importance of putting on a great show for the home fans, and that starts by getting a win on Sunday afternoon.

The Robins sit in third place in the Great Lakes West Division, and still have a chance to move into second with two regular season games remaining. A win over 1927 SC would eliminate the Fort Wayne club from title contention and see West Michigan Bearings finish first in the division.

Tickets for Sunday’s matinee match at Eastern Stadium are just $5 online through the Fanbase Clubs app or $7 at the gate.
