As our inaugural season approaches, we wanted to give you more of an introduction to the players who will represent Lansing Common on the field this summer. Today, it’s time to get to know Joshua Rosendale.

What position do you play and what do you think Lansing Common fans will enjoy most about the way you play?

I play forward, mostly down the middle but also can play out wide. The thing I think that Lansing Common fans will enjoy most about the way I play would be my willingness to work on and off the ball to get myself in positions where I can be most effective to the team.

What is the #1 thing you are hoping to work on this summer in regards to your game?

The biggest thing I am hoping to work on this summer would be just the development of my game. I get to now play with guys from the Division 1 and NAIA ranks who hopefully I can learn some things from to use within my game.

What was your favorite moment you have ever had on a soccer field?

My favorite moment I have had playing soccer would have to be just recently when we played Albion. It was our first game in over 500 days, with a whole new coaching staff, and a very young team. We ended up going down 2-0 and scored right before the half to make it 2-1. We then scored with 28 seconds left to force overtime and then scored a game-winner with 5 minutes left to come back from 2-0 down and win 3-2. The adrenaline after that game-winner was something special.

What hobbies do you have when you aren’t playing soccer?

Outside of soccer, one of the things I do most is go out and play golf with some friends. I also enjoy watching Premier League as well as anything Michigan State related.

Tell us something you enjoy about the Lansing area.

Something I enjoy about the Lansing area is just how it feels like home. I have lived around Lansing my whole life; all my family and friends live around there so it just gives off that home vibe that no other place would.
