Today Lansing Common FC announced its schedule for the 2021 season. Lansing Common will play its first-ever match on May 15 as the club hosts Fort Wayne Sport Club at Lansing Eastern Stadium. The club’s first Midwest Premier League match will follow a week later on May 22, also at home.
Lansing Common will compete in the Midwest Premier League East Division, which includes 7 other Michigan-based teams. In addition to LCFC, the East division includes BiH Grand Rapids, Detroit City FC, Inter Detroit, Livonia City FC, LK St. Clair, Michigan Stars FC, and West Michigan Bearings. Teams will face each other twice throughout the season, home and away, for a 14 match regular season. The team at the top of the standings at the end of the season will be the Division Champion.
The 2021 schedule includes a home match against Detroit City FC on July 4 at 2 pm, and Lansing Common hosts Livonia City FC for its season finale on July 31.
“I am excited about the first game, the last game, and all in-between,” said Head Coach Josh Oakley. “The league portion of our schedule will afford us a chance to lay down a marker for years to come. A few years ago, I was at MSU for a prospect camp and as I was walking out I glanced up to see a quote over the door from George Perles that read ‘they all count one.’ We look forward to each and everyone this summer.”
“All of us are looking forward to welcoming fans to safely celebrate our community and our club on 8 different weekends this summer,” said Eric Walcott, President of Lansing Common FC. “We’re grateful to the Ingham County Health Department and the Whitmer Administration for providing the clear guidance needed to help us host fans at Lansing Eastern Stadium all summer long and for years to come.”

In addition to its 14 league matches, Lansing Common’s schedule includes matches against Fort Wayne Sport Club (home), Grand Haven Admirals (home), Kalamazoo FC (away), and Fort Wayne FC (away). The June 6 match against Grand Haven will be part of a doubleheader, with Lansing United playing against Chicago KICS at Lansing Eastern Stadium at 2 pm, followed by Lansing Common against Grand Haven.
“The June 6 match will be special for the club and community as we get to showcase this new team alongside Lansing United,” said Oakley.
Lansing Common home games will be played at Eastern High School Stadium. A complete 2021 Lansing Common schedule can be found at lansingcommonfc.com. Ticket information will be announced in April.
