Lansing Common FC kicked off its fifth season with a strong showing at Saturday’s Kickoff Round Robin at Eastern Stadium. The event began with a free youth clinic, where nearly 50 young players took to the field with Lansing Common coaches and players.

The action continued with a round-robin slate of 45-minute friendlies between Lansing Common, Troy United, and Detroit Badgers FC. In the opening match, the Robins edged Troy United 1-0 thanks to a stunning strike from Ali Ahmad.

After Troy United bounced back with a win over Detroit Badgers in the second game, Lansing Common returned to the field to cap off the evening with a 2-0 win over the Badgers. Blendi Jahiri and Cullen MacKay each found the back of the net, while goalkeeper Jonny Schwarz recorded clean sheets in both matches.

Lansing Common returns to action Saturday, May 10 at 6 PM, when they host Ypsilanti Athletic at Eastern Stadium. Tickets are just $5 online or $7 at the gate. Get Loaded, Craveable, and Another One Bites the Crust food trucks will be at the game in addition to Lansing Common’s regular concessions menu.
